Funding Support & Resources
At the Rock Creek Foundation, we value the dignity of each person, and that’s why we say, “Choose to let your life speak.”
We believe it's not the disability that causes a problem - it's a lack of adequate services or resources that prevent people with multiple disabilities from gaining the opportunities to participate in everyday life. So, for more than four decades, we have sought the most innovative ways to provide the support, the structure, and the stability to allow the dually-diagnosed, (people living with developmental disabilities as well as severe and persistent mental illness), to grow and achieve an independent life of their own.
Just as we know there is no single path to living a full life, and that experiencing a full life always means expanding the capabilities and potential of the individual, we also know that no one organization can do this work alone. That’s why the Rock Creek Foundation seeks financial and other support from a number of organizations to help fulfill our mission. Our current funding sources include:
- Developmental Disabilities Administration in Maryland. This primary State agency that funds community-based services and support for people with developmental disabilities, provides key funding for the Rock Creek Foundation. Discover how the DDA and RCF help transform lives.
- The Maryland Department of Health's Behavioral Health Administration offers an integrated process for planning, policy, and services to ensure a coordinated quality system of care, as well as providing services and support and promoting recovery, resiliency, health, and wellness for individuals who have or are at risk for emotional and other psychiatric disorders.
It’s this simple: Individuals who lead full lives have the freedom to choose. They live and thrive in places where they feel included, can participate, and remain engaged and active as citizens. Our goal is to ensure that each person we serve can develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible, in their own communities and that they are able to realize their fullest potential.
