Every day, Rock Creek Foundation’s friendly and knowledgeable program administrators help people through the Supported Employment Program. This innovative and highly effective opportunity allows individuals with mental illnesses, developmental disabilities, and single and multiple disabilities to truly flex their independence and take an active part in personal growth and development through community-based competitive employment opportunities.
When an individual participates in the Supported Employment Program, they’ll be able to gain access to engaging and meaningful employment opportunities that fit their personal strengths and learn of any need for modifications, in order to perform successfully.
We conduct a full assessment of our individuals’ needs and make sure that employment opportunities match their values, skills, and interests. After all, the objectives of these positions are to help them integrate into their existing community, make an impact beyond their borders, motivate them to grow, and gain a sense of autonomy and progress through levels of competence.

The Supported Employment Program at Rock Creek Foundation gives you structured and stable employment opportunities that you can look forward to growing professionally within. We’ve created a similarly structured and organized process that we guide you through at every step of the way.
Because our program relies on individual plans and supports designed to address your needs, the pathway to employment is also completely personalized. However, we do begin with an assessment of your needs and take the time to learn more about what you feel you can contribute to within your community, through employment, and what your professional long-term goals and hopes are.
The assessment portion is key and we encourage you to be candid and specific about your goals. This helps make the job search process so much more enriching and worth your time.
Based on the outcomes of the assessment portion, we’ll help you create a larger vision for your career through a structured Career Planning meeting. We’ll also discuss any work adjustments you may require and connect you with the training that’ll help you proceed with those modifications.
Your participation and engagement within our program also give you access to ongoing mentoring and job coaching opportunities. These services are especially key to your personal and professional growth. They give you the chance to go back over your Career Planning goals and make sure that you feel comfortable, confident, and satisfied with every aspect of your job so far.
To make sure it’s a positive and mutually beneficial experience for both you and your employer, we include employer consultation, support groups, and long-term support options in our process. These services are essential to building transparency and trust between you and your employer.

Rock Creek Foundation partners with Maryland Works as a Maryland State Employment Works Program Vendor to provide employment and training opportunities for our consumers. Through our workforce development programs, we provide existing and potential workers with the ability to grow their skills and develop the tools they need for employment success.
